Thursday, September 10th

Upon arrival in New Orleans, proceed to check-in at The Ritz-Carlton New Orleans. Within New Orleans’ French Quarter on Canal Street, this four-star hotel honors the city through its services and décor. Housed in the historic Beaux Arts Maison Blanche building from 1908, the hotel pairs southern charm with boutique luxury. Local traditions influence signature spa treatments, chefs share their secrets to the perfect gumbo every afternoon and live jazz fills the Davenport Lounge Wednesday to Saturday evenings.

This evening, enjoy a private behind-the-scenes tour, Mask-Making workshop in addition to cocktails & dinner at Mardi Gras World. 

The behind-the scenes tour allows you to see firsthand what it takes to bring Mardi Gras to life year after year. Walk through the hard work and extensive planning that goes into this grand event when you tour Blaine Kern Studios, an operating workshop that has created breathtaking floats for Mardi Gras and other parades around the world since 1947. This all-access opportunity winds you through the massive studio, where artists and architects build Mardi Gras floats from the ground up. You’ll learn about the history of this unique and festive tradition, going beyond its reputation to get a deeper understanding of the REAL Mardi Gras.

After your tour, one of the Mardi Gras World artists will lead you through designing your very own Mardi Gras mask. After a brief history of masking in New Orleans, you’ll make your own, one-of-a-kind creation. Let your creativity run wild or follow along with sample masks that we can help you recreate.

Head out to the Mardi Gras Plaza, situated directly on the Mississippi River, to show off your Mardi Gras mask for a masquerade themed dinner. You will delight in cocktails and a lavish spread of local Cajun specialties while enjoying the beautiful views and breeze of the river. 

Friday, September 11th

Enjoy your day at leisure, or take part in an optional tour (at an additional cost).

  • Down here we’re passionate about eating, so along with your guide you will visit up to 6 locations: classic Creole restaurants, neighborhood sandwich shops, hot sauce bars, artisanal candy stores and more. Once inside you’ll sample different foods that represent the breadth and diversity of our culinary heritage: dishes like gumbo, Creole brisket, muffulettas, poboys, pralines and much more.

    We cover New Orleans’ various restaurant family dynasties, we discuss recipes old and new, we visit restaurants that pre-date the American Civil War, we recommend places to eat and places to shop. When possible the chefs come out to visit the groups and discuss their influences and passions. And with so many dining options in New Orleans, why not try 6 different places in one fell swoop?!

    The 3-hour walking tour is conducted at a leisurely pace. Most of the restaurant stops feature fully stocked bars if you’d like to enjoy a cold beverage (at an additional cost) during the tour.

    Pricing includes all of the food, and gratuities. This tour features a set menu and does not have a gluten-free, pork-free or vegetarian option. The tour operates rain or shine; we suggest bringing a small umbrella and/or rain jacket if there is rain in the forecast.

    A minimum of 16 participants is required. 


Saturday, September 12th

Travel by private motor coach to Tiger Stadium in Baton Rouge. Prior to kick-off, our group will delight in a Tailgate Party complete with delicious food options and variety of beverages. 

Afterwards, watch the Texas Longhorns take on LSU! 

Game ticket not included and game time is to be advised.

Beyond Group Travel's Terms & Conditions

Please read the following information and conditions carefully.

NOT INCLUDED:  Airfare, and/or add-on air fare from connecting cities, meals, sightseeing, and transportation not mentioned under included features, personal and baggage insurance, checked baggage fees, and any items of a personal nature. 

OPTIONAL AIR TRANSPORTATION: Group Air Fare will be offered if a minimum of 10 passengers per departure city are interested. After tickets are issued, penalties of up to 100% may be levied if your reservations are changed or canceled. If connecting flights are requested, special promotional fares may be used, in which case penalties of as much as 100% may be assessed by the airlines if reservations are changed or canceled after ticketing. After departure, if the reservations are changed, you will be charged a revision fee and/or a higher fare. VARIATIONS TO THE GROUP ITINERARY MUST BE REQUESTED NO LATER THAN 90 DAYS PRIOR TO DEPARTURE. 

NO REFUNDS WILL BE GIVEN FOR UNUSED HOTEL ROOMS, MEALS, SIGHTSEEING TRIPS, AND OTHER SERVICES NOT USED ONCE THE TOUR HAS BEGUN.  

CANCELLATIONS: If cancellation is received between:

February 10, 2020 and April 10, 2020            $250 per person is non-refundable

April 11, 2020 and July 10, 2020                   $750 per person is non-refundable

July 11, 2020 and September 10, 2020         NO REFUND

TRIP CANCELLATION INSURANCE: Beyond Group Travel, Inc. strongly recommends "Trip Cancellation" insurance to protect you against non-refundable monies should you have to cancel for accidental or medical reasons prior to or while on your trip.  Beyond Group Travel, Inc. will provide the registrant with the appropriate insurance application upon receipt of the registration form and deposit.  The receipt of the insurance application by the traveler will constitute the traveler's acceptance or waiver of insurance coverage.

ACCIDENT & BAGGAGE INSURANCE: We recommend that you have adequate accident and baggage insurance. Beyond Group Travel, Inc. is not responsible for personal injury, accident or illness, or for loss, damage or theft of luggage or personal belongings. Additionally, airlines may impose checked baggage fees which are the responsibility of the traveler, and Beyond Group Travel, Inc. assumes no responsibility. These fees change regularly, and we recommend checking with your airline carrier prior to travel. 

RESPONSIBILITY: Beyond Group Travel, Inc. acts only as an agent for the suppliers of travel conveyance, transport, accommodation or other service and has no responsibility in whole or in part for any delays, delayed departure or arrival, missed carrier connections, loss, death, damage or injury to person or property or accident, mechanical defect, failure or negligence of any nature howsoever caused in connection with any accommodations, transportation or other services or for any substitution of hotels or of common carrier equipment, with or without notice, or for any additional expenses occasioned thereby.  Further, the passenger participates in this tour at his/her own risk. Hiking, walking, use of various transportation and recreational vehicles, and other physical activity involve greater risk of physical injury than the activities which the passenger may participate in during daily life, and by taking part in those activities, the passenger incurs and assumes all risk that these activities present. RATES QUOTED ARE BASED ON INCLUDED TRIP COMPONENTS AT THE TIME OF RESERVATION AND ARE SUBJECT TO CHANGES THEREIN AT OR BEFORE THE TIME OF DEPARTURE. No revisions of the printed itinerary or its included features are anticipated; however, the right is reserved to make any changes, with or without notice, which might become necessary, with the mutual understanding that any additional expenses will be paid by the individual passenger. Package pricing is based on a minimum number of participants for trip to operate.  Beyond Group Travel reserves the right to cancel program with a partial refund of deposit when the number of participants is below the critical level.  You will be informed of trip cancellation at least 2 months in advance.  Baggage is at the owners’ risk throughout the trip, unless insured by the passenger.  The right is retained to decline to accept or to retain any person as a member of this trip at any time, subject only to the requirement that the portion of the total amount paid which corresponds to the unused services and accommodations be refunded.  If the entire program is canceled for any reason, participants shall have no claim other than for a partial refund.  By forwarding the deposit, the passenger certifies that he/she has no physical, mental or other condition or disability that would create a hazard for him/her or other passengers and accepts the terms of this contract. The airlines and other transportation companies concerned are not to be held responsible for any act, omission, or event; during the time passengers are not on board their conveyances. If Beyond Group Travel, Inc. is the merchant on your credit card transaction, you agree to the following: Beyond Group Travel, Inc.’s services consist of facilitating the sale and paying the Suppliers, and once Beyond Group Travel, Inc. provides said services, you agree not to dispute the credit card charge. The tour staff is responsible for the group as a whole and will not be able to assist individuals extensively, either on a regular basis or in the case of serious illness or injury.
