Spirit of Adventure aboard Silver Origin
Literally every moment in this "living laboratory" can take your breath away. You may see a pod of dolphins jumping just off the bow, a spouting whale breaching the surf off in the distance, or a flock of frigate birds following in the wake of our ship. And with an expedition team of the highest caliber, you will not only visit this unique region, but experience a more profound appreciation of its natural wonders.
Further, there are seminars, daily briefings and previews of the next day's outings for you to learn and understand this region. Join a guide on deck to identify the seabirds or chat awhile with the navigational officers. Perhaps, enhance your skills with a photography workshop or participate in informal discussions led by the expeditions team. Complimentary open bars nurture a convivial, club-like atmosphere, while the open-seating restaurant is perfect for impromptu dining with friends.

Activity Level & Health
Participants must be in good health to embark on this CruiseTour. This is a rigorous tour and you need to be in good physical condition with good balance as the terrain varies from sandy beaches to uneven lava and rocks. All ship-to-shore transfers use Zodiacs and some wet landings require guests to wade through knee-high deep coastal water.
You can expect to walk 2-3 miles on average over the course of each day. Quito is 9,350 feet above sea level and some may experience altitude-related symptoms! Hydration throughout the trip is strongly recommended.
We recommend packing based on the most restrictive luggage policy, which is the Intra-Ecuador flights. Please note, there are no porters or baggage trolleys at the Galápagos airports; Guests must handle their own luggage.
Intra-Ecuador Flights: You are permitted one (1) piece of checked luggage with a weight of 50lbs. (23 kg) with a maximum dimension of 62 linear inches per passenger, plus one (1) carry-on bag may be transported onboard having a maximum weight of 22lbs. (10 kg), and a maximum combined linear measurement that does not exceed 45 inches.
Linear Measurement = length + width + height
Luggage allowances and charges are subject to change. Please refer to your specific carrier's web site to access the most up-to-date information.
Shipboard attire is casual; appropriate attire for daytime aboard ship or ashore consists of standard sports outfits. Shoes should be non-skid, flat or very low heeled for deck activities.Evening attire is also casual with caveat that jeans and shorts are not permitted in The Restaurant dining venue.
In The Restaurant:
For snorkeling: You will obtain a shorty wet suit onboard for this activity. We recommend bringing winter (long-sleeve/long-pants) running gear (as example) along with bathing suit to wear under the wet suit, if sensitive to cold. Average sea temperature in February is 77 degrees-F.
A note about toiletries: The cruise line will have a very small shop with limited items for sale. Other than Quito & Guayaquil, there are no other shopping options for you to purchase things you may have forgotten. Please make sure you have adequate supply of insect repellent, sunscreen, and medication for this journey.

Remember the key is to dress comfortably to fully enjoy this expedition. See example photos below of Cindy's recent Galapagos Adventure.
You will be spending most of your time off the ship, and items to pass the time are not necessary.
DO NOT OVERPACK.
Travelers should be surefooted as terrain varies from sandy beaches to uneven lava and rocks. All ship-to-shore excursions use small Zodiac boats and some wet landings require guests to wade through knee-high deep coastal water/navigate in and out of small boats.
