Lower East Side Food Tour - An Immersive Taste of NYC’s Melting Pot Heritage
Join us on a journey through the food of the true American melting pot of the NYC neighborhood known as the Lower East Side. In the mid-19 century leading up to the outbreak of the First World War, 13 million immigrants passed through the doors of Ellis Island Immigration Station, seeking a better life. Almost half of these immigrants from places such as Italy, Ireland, and Russia settled on the Lower East Side of Manhattan, bringing their comfort food and recipes from the old country. Your Licensed NYC Tour Guide will lead you through a truly NY experience as you taste some of these ethnic delicacies such as Pastrami, Smoked Fish, Pizza, and Handmade Asian Dumplings, and something Sweet, along with some fun surprises.
